Grade 1 is when students learn how to write full stories independently, and I was amazed at the quality of writing that our students demonstrated. The stories submitted to us were not only interesting and on topic, but also showed excellent structure and grammar.
I had a difficult time judging this competition because of all the quality entries. Each entry scored high in my opinion. I would like to congratulate all of those who participated, and please know you should all feel proud of your hard work.
Our winner, Jacob from Taipei Donghu Franchise School wrote a wonderful story about his shoes. He was able to express how his shoes were helpful to him in an important race. He did a great job creating an exciting narrative that kept us on the edge of our seats.
It has been an honor to be a judge for this competition, and I am very impressed with the effort and care our students showed during this contest.
