今天弋果新鮮事要跟大家分享的主題是: 英文的慣用語。This is difficult for ESL students to learn but today we're going to talk about some which can be translated quite easily, or their meanings can be translated. For example: Like father, like son. (有其父必有其子)；The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. (掉下來的蘋果不會離蘋果樹太遠)；tiger father has no dog son. (虎父無犬子) —everywhere you go, China or West, people are like their parents. 另外, 成語通常背後都有一個故事: From the 3 kingdoms period when one general Cao Cao used one enemy to attack another enemy, before attacking them both. ‘The enemy of your enemy is your friend.’ 你的敵人的敵人就是你的朋友-借刀殺人。
