Founder Stephanie Sun and President Elsa Wey of Eagle Global Education Group were invited to attend Business Today’s “Ocean Restoration Initiative” press conference. Chairperson Sun emphasized that achieving net-zero goals requires talent with a global perspective. Standing at the forefront of education, Eagle has spent the past 25 years nurturing outstanding students through the power of education and helping children connect with the world through language learning. This educational foundation supports a more sustainable future and contributes to the long-term development of a greener economy.
Eagle marked its 25th anniversary by supporting the Ocean Restoration Initiative and launching programs such as the “Eagle Sustainability Beach Cleanup” and the “Eagle Sustainability Performing Arts Festival.” Through these initiatives, Eagle aims to integrate sustainability with education by encouraging students, parents, and teachers across Taiwan to engage in hands-on environmental action. Eagle believes that putting ideas into practice is one of the most meaningful ways to reinforce learning.
On the morning of March 2, Eagle volunteers braved the coldest temperatures of the year and steady rain to carry out a beach cleanup in Nanliao, Hsinchu. To stay warm, they drank ginger tea, formed teams, and chanted encouragement to one another before heading out in raincoats carrying burlap sacks. The beach was covered with all kinds of debris, some weighing more than 100 kilograms. Working together, more than 100 volunteers counted “1, 2, 3…” as they hauled heavy waste to the collection station.

After a morning of hard work, volunteers collected a total of 1,485 kilograms of waste - nearly three times the original goal. As the rain gradually cleared, many volunteers recalled the saying, “The more you pick up, the less it rains.” Witnessing the team’s unity and determination was deeply moving and demonstrated the powerful impact of collective action. As part of the education sector, Eagle has spent the past 25 years giving back through education. Yet corporate social responsibility is an ongoing commitment. Eagle will continue supporting environmental sustainability and sustainable education, with the hope of inspiring even greater positive change in the future.
Notably, one of the key organizers behind the Ocean Restoration Initiative, Business Today R&D Director Wang Chih-chieh, had interviewed Eagle during its early years in Hsinchu. Twenty-five years later, he unexpectedly reunited with Eagle’s founder and general manager at the press conference. Connected by a shared passion for education and sustainability, both sides have continued to grow and make meaningful contributions in their respective fields. Though their paths have differed, their journeys have reflected remarkably similar values and aspirations.
