“The American Eagle flagship campus has finally arrived in Taipei!” This has been one of the most common reactions from visiting parents since the World Trade Campus opened on January 24, 2024. Founded in Hsinchu in 1999, American Eagle Institute has remained committed to its mission: “Quality English Education—the Key to Your Future.” Today, with 88 campuses across Taiwan, Eagle’s success is built on far more than imported textbooks or the simple presence of foreign teachers. Curriculum Materials We invest in high-quality learning materials and use a complete Kindergarten through Grade 5 curriculum from McGraw-Hill, one of the most established educational publishers in the United States. Eagle students follow the same structured learning progression used in American elementary schools, allowing parents to clearly understand their child’s English proficiency in relation to U.S. grade-level standards.
2. Foreign Teachers High-quality curriculum materials require skilled teachers to bring them to life. With so many English language schools in Taiwan—and significant differences in teacher quality—how does American Eagle Institute maintain consistently high teaching standards? Over the years, Eagle has worked to become the “TSMC of English education” by investing substantial time, expertise, and resources in curriculum research and development. Every Eagle teacher follows a standardized Teacher’s Manual for each class, providing clear instructional guidance and ensuring a consistent learning experience across all campuses. To keep pace with advances in educational technology, Eagle has integrated digital tools into both parent communication and at-home learning.
Through the Eagle App, WordsNest, and Orbiterra, students can review and reinforce their English skills beyond the classroom. Parents can also communicate with the school, receive timely updates, and stay informed about their child’s learning progress.
This is my eighth year with American Eagle Institute, and I have seen firsthand how English education has evolved. Today, learning English is no longer limited to traditional KK phonetics or preparation for examinations. Instead, effective English education focuses on natural phonics instruction and the development of lasting language skills through extensive reading, writing, listening, and speaking. American Eagle Institute provides students with a safe, comfortable, and immersive English-learning environment where they can develop their skills with confidence and enjoyment.
