The Typical Father

Standard 4C Terry Li

Student Read-Aloud

Everyone’s fathers are different, but they all do have some things in common. I think the typical father is kind but smart. He needs to be serious when we do something wrong, but he is kind in daily life. He can answer all my questions and teach me patiently. He treats everyone the same.

My father is not a typical father. He sometimes shouts at me when I make him angry, but he is very good at math. He always teaches me, and I always learn well. He treats my sisters better, because they are girls. He takes care of them more often than me. But this is the only bad thing about him.

To me, my father is like a hero. He is really good at science and math. Whenever I don’t understand something, he explains it clearly, and I always get it right away. He never gets tired of teaching me. He is patient and smart, and I want to be like him when I grow up.

When I have a nightmare and am crying, he hugs me until I feel calm. This is my father. Although he treats my sisters better and sometimes shouts at me, I still love him because he is the most handsome guy I’ve ever seen!
